In 2000 Grythyttan Hjortron (cloudberry), the first product from Grythyttan Vin, was introduced on the market. But soon the business concept was expanded "to produce and market exclusive fruitwines made out of wild berries from Sweden". In 2001 Grythyttan Jakt (hunt) och Grythyttan Skogsglögg (forest glögg) was launched. In the spring of 2007, a new type of fruitwine based on birch sap, Grythyttan Björkvin (birch wine) and Sparkling Björk (birch) was introduced.
Grythyttan Vin has its own high standard premises. The equipment is also modern, but still we apply the traditional methods of wine production. For example, the most exclusive fruitwines are stored in swedish oak barrels. In order to guarantee a high level of quality, the entire process is carried out by Grythyttan Vin itself. The winery is located in Grythyttan, established as a Nordic meal center. Grythyttan Vin has a developing cooperation with Måltidens Hus (House of Meal), Restauranghögskolan (University of restaurant and culinary arts), local food producers and the resturants in the region. It is in this atmosphere Grythyttan Vin works. Grythyttan has become an important venue and a strong trademark, thanks to Carl Jan Granqvist and his efforts.
